(2) UseHC(MENU=>Align=>PolarAlignment”)
todisplaytheazimuth andaltitude positionof
several bright starsnear meridian.Select one
that is visible and high in altitude as the
Alignment StarA.Follow theHCinstructions to
movetheStarAtothecenterof theeyepiece
withthecombinationofusingLatitudeAdj.Knob
and/buttons.PressENTERtoconfirm
thecentering.Next, select
abrightstar thatis
close to the horizon as the Alignment Star B.

10. Manual Operation:The mount can now be usedto

andtrackingtargets.PressMENU,selectandENTER
Select and Slew”.Select acategory (forexample,
Planets, Sun,Moon”),thenanobject(forexample,
Moon”).PressENTERandthetelescopewillslewto
theobjectandautomaticallystarttracking.
14. Sync to Target: Ifthe objectisnot inthe centerof
the eyepiece, use this function to center and
synchronize the object to improve local GOTO
accuracy.Press MENUand select and ENTERSync
toTarget”.Usearrowkeystomoveuntiltheobjectis
centeredineyepiece.PressENTERagain
tocomplete
thisfunction.

“Select and Slew” operation.This is most useful
when looking for faint objects near a bright star.

ReminderonTensionAdjusters
TheTensionAdjustersareusedasthelaststepto
lock, and the first step to release the gears.Never
fully tighten them during operations.The optimum
positionis onejust deep enoughto ridany plays.
Hesitation in turning the Gear Switch by90° means
theTensionAdjusterhasnotbeenloosenedenough.
